Igniting the Flames of World War 2

World War II has redefined warfare to a whole new spectrum and now you can make your own alternative universe on the table top via Flames of War and the best way to start with a friend is always the two player starter sets (Something like WH40k Dark Vengeance)

Best value for buck with British, Americans and Germans
Plus all you need to learn to play the game (rulebook, army list and all)

My first Super Heavy - Part 2

The diaries continues......

30th July 2014 & 31st July 2014
I've put in most of the metallic colours in, especially the tank tracks, the barrels, smokes, exhaust, gun barrels and stuff like that and touched up more green, not much has progressed as fatigue builds up on a weekday faster.

30th July 2014 - OH! The metallic parts.

31st July 2014 - Mr. Drive Me Closer is now being coloured

My first Super-Heavy - Part 1

And so the previous post is the prelude to my first Super-Heavy plus another 3 Hellhounds and 3 Leman Russ that you all have seen it very frequently in any engagements against me so I'm not going to cover those. Here is a short diary from the day I've owned it until completion

27th July 2014
I've coughed up quite the upfront to have the kit, I do thank Derek for allowing me the honour of owning the kit that is so awesome with an upfront, guess I'll be eating roti for the next two months (just kidding, I've planned for it).

Armour has arrived
As usual as an eager beaver, I've cracked open the box and started assembling the biggest stuff I see, the Baneblade/Hellhammer (I thought I could build a Shadowsword, the one with the D-weapon with this kit but still I'm not disappointed with the purchase)

The crazed Tech Magos goes to work right away.
I told myself it would require me about 8 hours collectively to complete assembling this monstrosity. So after about 3.5 hours that day, this is what I've came up with......

The Machine Spirit is pleased with the progress

Tracks are rumbling to a tabletop near you!

Can you hear the thunderous sound of approaching armor, General?

Been a little busy lately?

Yup, my shipment from GW has been always anticipated with this time a whole bunch of stuff coming in for me, Knight Commander Pask, Primaris Psyker, Techpriest, Gunnery Sergeant Harker and Deathwatch Conversion Kits. While my buddy Derek ordered the same thing minus Harker and Deathwatch.

A wonderful hobby night at home!

Allies for my Imperial Guard

So I just want to have some nice psychic powers from Divination especially Prescience. In order to have the Librarian, I'll need to have one troop choice, so to keep it to the minimum this is what I have.

Potential Allies for my Imperial Guard Army

One option for the Allied troop choice - Bolter Scouts

Another option - Sniper scouts

Journey into Naggaroth - Chapter 5 - Manticore Menace

More monster madness, although the tardiness has kicked in after such a long break from updating this site. As of now another monster - A Manticore. This bad monster is modified from the Chaos Lord on Manticore kit by getting an extra piece of the seat from the Dark Elf Dreadlord on Black Dragon kit (thanks eBay).

A nice look from far

Astra Militarum, Militarum Tempestus...... hmmm......

So Games Workshop has decided to "rebrand" Imperial Guard into Astra Militarum. Name sounds "meh", like what typical Malaysians say "Not enough Umph!". They are still Imperial Guard to me regardless, it sounds much cooler, more regal, more "Umph" in a way. But what are the changes they could make to the codex is all left that I have to wait.
The alleged cover for Codex: Imperi...... ehem Astra Militarum
Moving on to another release the Codex: Militarum Tempestus. Wait what! A codex for the graduates of Schola Progenium. They were once part of the Codex: Imperial Guard as Storm Troopers and Commissars, now they kinda what to form their own club of their own if their own stuff, flavor and such.

Codex: Storm Troopers a.k.a. Militarum Tempestus

Journey into Naggaroth - Chapter 4 - Dragons abound!

As on the sneak peek on the last post and finally the Dragon is completed

Another pride and soul as a collector of a Dark Elf Army
The dragon is one of the most majestic model I ever had which I really wanted to make it look good even on display with a of course a certain criteria to make, effort and skill. So to take a close up on some aspects of the techniques employed to the model.

As drybrushed rock, simple as it is. Looks good on its own
The wood is a good coat of Army Painter Leather Brown, drybrushed with Rhinox Hide and a light coat of Black washer
The top wing, wash blending and toning. One layer of grey and wash.
The dark parts are done with more layers of wash and being dragged along the wing.
Underside of the wing. Uses the similar method as the under wing.
The underscale of the dragon is just paint and one strong layer of wash, simple as it is
A lot of detail on the Dreadlord, this guy is only mounted with Blu-Tac only
Well time to work on my infantry now, being left out quite a while on the Warhost of Naggaroth kit. Wait I have another one, the Manticore.

A Miniature Wargamer's guide to the Chinese Zodiacs

Since it is the Chinese New Year, everybody start to sound like feng-shui master when it comes to the Chinese zodiac. As you well know how the 12 zodiacs represents in WFB or models in the WH40k universe. Let's start with the first one. Starting from the Rat

1. Rat
Should I call Year of the Skaven......

The Chinese did not see this coming to them.

Journey into Naggaroth - Chapter 3 - The Cold One Club and some upcoming......

This post is surely overdue for one is Chinese New Year, thus a reason for me to slack of some painting but there is still some progress on the Black Ark Corsairs and some monsters, details at the end of this post

Without further ado, I shall introduce you all the members of the Cold One Club, in order to be a member of the Cold One Club, you would need to own at least one Cold One (either ridden ones or drawing a chariot would do)

A place that they could call HOME!

I'm taking a break from the Journey to Naggaroth series to bring you some Homeworld Ipoh insights. One trip down to Kay-El has brought me one good thing. A place my Guardsmen can call HOME! After spending years cramped inside my Battle Barge, finally a place that they can rest and recuperate after fighting off heretics, mysterious aliens and ugly bugs.

Finally a Home!

Journey into Naggaroth - Chapter 2 - Lords and Heroes of Naggaroth

Got the warhost, but you need someone awesome to lead the army. While not many model kits for Battle Standard Bearer for Dark Elves (unlike High Elves, they have a kit for Prince and Noble which can make lots of awesome stuff), so I have to improvise and this is what I can come out with.

The Lords and Heroes of my Warhost
